We had no sooner posted last week’s newsletter when word came of the totally unexpected passing of singer/songwriter Lisa Marie Presley. Cue millions of broken hearts. Guess God needed a new band so he called up Lisa, Jeff Beck, Robbie Bachman, and Van Conner (bassist for the Screaming Trees). They will live forever in our hearts, musical memories, on the radio and in the background music of television shows, movies, and (sadly) commercials.

I was reading a recent poll on MSN – the results were terrible: The question was – During this past year, “Have you attended … A play, a concert, a live music performance, a musical theater performance, a festival?” And a follow-up question – In the coming year, “Do you plan to see …” A play or a musical, a live music event, or a festival?” And the results were in the LOW single digits for “Yes, I plan to…” We seriously need a plan to change those figures soon or NONE of us will have jobs in the future!
