So much for the theory that kids who grow up with music don’t grow up to be “shooters.” Totally depressing this week to hear that the mentally-disturbed young man who shot up a 4th of July Parade was really into rap but also that his own lyrics were violent and espoused violence. I still think that music helps and heals. We need to be paying more attention to our kids’ lives.

Guess what song is No. 1 on the charts???!!! Master of Puppets by Metallica! Seems the song was used in this season’s final show of Stranger Things and the “youngsters” who hadn’t heard it before went out in droves and downloaded the song. Can we say, “Everything old is new again?” And, by the way, several other “oldies but goodies” have had resurgences on the charts including several of Elvis’ songs from the movie “Elvis”. Great marketing, you marketing people!
