Our thanks to Steve Son for the interesting talk last Monday on his adventures to “local” stardom and how he got here! Very funny and his son Trevor assisted with videos of Steve performing, slides of posters and flyers, and other mementos of Steve’s journey! We really enjoyed it! If you are a dues-paying member of COMBO, you have your “secret password” to check out the video of his talk on YouTube which will be posted soon.

So, out of curiosity, I asked Google, “Who sings the Plexaderm commercial?” And this was its reply: AI Overview – The vocals in the newer Plexaderm commercial are AI-generated rather than sung by a human artist. Viewers on platforms like Reddit and social media widely note that the spot features an over-produced, artificial jingle with synthesized vocals paired with computer-generated characters. No human singer or artist has been credited or identified by advertising trackers like iSpot.tv. Reddit ·r/CommercialsIHate +1

OMG! “It’s time… 43 years later and still completely untouchable. Who could ever top Michael Jackson and Thriller? We are talking about the greatest entertainer, the greatest album, the most legendary music video, and the most iconic choreography in history. The masterpiece. The standard. The GOAT. Period.” (From Jerba Nichol on Facebook) 43 years. Hard to believe.
.
Congratulations to Kayla Radomski of Aurora and Jason Segal (actor; How I Met Your Mother, The Shrinking) on their marriage. Kayla is the daughter of Shawn Vanderlois, who was the lead singer of Uncle R.I.P. many years ago. Kayla is a singer, actress, and dancer who competed on So You Think You Can Dance and came in 4th. She recently worked as a back-up dancer for Taylor Swift! May Kayla and Jason have many happily married years together.
