Photo: Guitar airbrushed by Christian Mora | Attention! We’re having trouble with an old form popping up when songwriters are trying to enter our contest. Please send your song, preferably in an MP3 format directly to info@coloradomusic.org. Go ahead and pay the fee and fill out the info form but send the song directly to us, not thru the website. We’ve got a “technical difficulty” and can’t find “the short!” Thank you!!!

I made a note to find Channel 7, Denver’s segment on AI scammers posing as musicians asking for money and selling tickets to pass onto you but I couldn’t find it. Anyway, just from the note, you get the idea. Not sure what you can do about it but keep your eyes out. I know that Herman’s used to have you pass out tickets but does any club in Denver do something like that now?

COMBO member John Riger has made a lovely film – an ode to Fiji – using his own jazz compositions as background music. Pleasant watch, very relaxing while discussing how climate change is effecting the Fiji islands – kind of a sneaky way to highlight the problem! It is about an hour long but very informative. You can watch it here:

.
Reminds me of another “jazz” movie, this one a documentary by Ben Makinen: JazzTown
You can now stream JAZZTOWN for FREE here:https://www.pbs.org/video/jazztown-f3xue2
.
Concert tour notes: Zayn Malik (Cancels U.S. only; still on in the U.K. & Mexico) and LeeAnn Rimes cancel concerts due to illnesses; Post Malone / Jelly Roll cancel some dates; Bruce Springsteen reschedules May 8th date due to sports games playoffs.
.
Sad turn of events for Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert who is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault (plus other charges), and for D4vd (David Anthony Burke) for the murder of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Both face life in prison for (probably) losing their cool and doing something really stupid. What a way to mess up one’s life.
