Our sincerest THANKS to Rob Mullins for the extreme music business talk! He covered so many areas, including how he managed to lose the publisher’s royalties from four of his albums. Mr. Mullins is performing on May 16th at Dazzle, 1080 14th Street, Denver, CO 80202 | Go to

I checked out Baggs Patrick’s and Marty Jones’ Songwriters at the Speakeasy (Roxy on Broadway) last Tuesday night. Really cool set up. Makes you feel like you’re in someone’s parlor! Lots of comfortable seating with tables to set your drinks & food on. And, of course, the entertainment was really good. COMBO member Steve Son reminded me that another member Michelle Castillo was going to be one of the featured performers and, as usual, she was superb! BTW, Steve is going to be speaking at our next general meeting on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 p.m. More details under “Events.” And more info on the Songwriters’ night below under “Open Mic / Jam Nights.”

Hard to believe that Prince has been gone 10 years. I’ve been up to Paisley Park twice. Go if you get a chance. It is a truly marvelous building – combination home, recording studio, and venue. If I had the money, I’d build something similar here in Colorado. Come on – big lottery!!!
