COMBO – The Colorado Music Business Organization

This will seem like a silly request but pass it along to your friends. We’ve had several of our newsletters “bounce” recently. Upon contacting the addressees (because we had another way to contact them), we find that they’ve changed their e-mail addresses and failed to send us the new eddress. The funny thing is – they noticed that they were not getting the COMBO newsletter but it didn’t occur to them why! So if you’ve changed your eddress or added one that you use more often, please send us your preferred eddress: info@coloradomusic.org
.
Our Songwriting Contest is open! Enter now before you forget! Remember: If you are a paid member of COMBO, you get a free entry!

Two events going on this weekend – see Calendar: Crazy Diamonds at The Oriental Theater on Friday night, and Pop Divas Masquerade Ball at the Pace Center Ballroom in Parker on Saturday. See Calendar for more details on both!
.
Add this to your calendar now! More info in the article listed. Colorado Guitar Show & Custom Luthier Expo, Saturday, May 9th – Legacy Campus, Lone Tree, CO http://guitarshowmagazine.com/coloradoexpo.html

Very saddened to hear that Odde’s Nightclub and Speakeasy in Westminster closed. Chris & staff were so good to COMBO, letting us run a couple of Songwriter Showcases there as well as a Grammy Watching Party in the Speakeasy. Good times, good food, and great service. Chris will be moving to a new place offering hamburgers, fries and other comfort foods – but no live music. We wish you the best, Chris & Susan.

Scott Hackler on Fb, 4/10/26: Started my three-gig day off this morning on this Chappell piano (the first of three pianos I get to play today, ending this evening with the Chickering at Cherry Hills Country Club). Eagle-eyed readers may notice something unusual about this British piano: it doesn’t have 88 keys! I’ll save you the tedium of counting and tell you it has 85.
~ ~~ ~
I only had two requests this morning, both made by the visiting husband of one of the residents: Hoagy Carmichael’s “Stardust” and “Memory” from Cats. The interesting thing about these songs is that I was playing in a memory care facility, and both songs are about memories.

Last couple of weeks to help Laurie out! NPR Tiny Desk Update! COMBO member Laurie Dameron writes: One more month to get views and then in early May, NPR will announce winners! I have nearly 1.4 K views so thanks to all of you who have viewed! But I need 98K more! You can help simply by viewing! They have received 6000 entries so I can use all the views I can get! It would REALLY be great to get some thumbs ups or comments, too. Also I hope this song will lift your spirits in these troubled days! Click on the link here: (Thank you!)
