Please plan to attend COMBO’s Songwriting Contest Winners Showcase at Dub’s Pub, 5301 South Broadway, Littleton (south Denver) on Saturday, November 15th . The show will feature the winners from this year’s Songwriting Contest as well as past winners and runners-up! Free!
If you haven’t re-upped your membership in COMBO in awhile, won’t you please do it now? An individual membership is only $30 for the year, and you get a lot of benefits if you take advantage of them. Go to https://www.coloradomusic.org and hit the “Join COMBO” button! Please!
Jerrelyn Corragio posted photos on her Facebook page of the Colorado CountryMusic Hall of Fame at the Wild Goose Saloon Women’s Showcase last Sunday saying that Diane “DeeJ” Johnson (who is also a COMBO member) put on a stellar show. Another year for the books! Included in the photos are Jodie Woodward, COMBO’s Michelle Castillo, Lauren Michaels, and Marla Downer. Jeffrey Golden headed up the lead house band!
Dr. Jacquelyn Glenn, a surgeon, veteran, and musician, has purchased the old Tavern Lowry building for $3.5M and plans to reopen it by next summer. The building housed the former Soiled Dove Underground in the lower level. Dr. Glenn plans to turn it into an educational music venue offering music lessons, performance space, and more, hopefully to be opened by the summer of 2026.

And speaking of – Frank Schultz of the Tavern Hospitality Group hopes to open a “new” Soiled Dove in a different place soon. The location has not been announced.
•
George Strait announced that he’ll do a special show in Austin; Journey announced a final North American tour as the “older” guys are retiring (hopefully lead singer Arnel Pineda will be able to come up with a new band); Kenny Chesney has a new album out, announces a tour, and has written a book on his life so far; and AC/DC is heading anywhere from across the country to Australia on their “Power Up” tour. They are coming to Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on July 28, 2026!
