My apologies if you sent in a show date and I did not get it listed in the calendar. I was trying to change word processing programs and, wow, did I mess things up! I’ll try to have all fixed by next week. And as I was typing this, I realized that I had left out a story about Mexican music star Ernesto Barajas, 38, being shot dead in parking lot. The authorities think that it had to do with rival gangs and his being among several performers of so-called “narco-corridos” — a controversial sub-genre of regional music that celebrates the exploits of infamous drug cartels — to have been killed in recent months.

Songs & Stories started Tuesday, August 19th on NBC after America’s Got Talent with host Kelly Clarkson. The first show featured the Jonas Brothers and how they came about writing their original songs, or how they chose cover songs for their albums. It was very interesting. I believe that this coming week’s show features Gloria Estaban and the stories of her songs.9:00 to 10:00 p.m. I love how Kelly supports live music, live musicians, and music creators, especially on her talk show!
