SHOCK! The Durango Songwriters Expo has become so popular with the people from New York,
Nashville, and Los Angeles that songwriters from Colorado may not get a space! Not only are
Colorado songwriters going to miss out on getting to attend the DSE, the hotel is also filling up.
If you have not been before, please note that there is a CU football game the same weekend and,
boy, do those rooms get booked fast. Thank goodness, Jim held a block of rooms for DSE
attendees but those have to be reserved by September 9 or they go “back” to the hotel. If you
haven’t signed up for either, do so now or miss out on this wonderful opportunity that is
normally only available in the big locations referenced above and this is close-by – no need for
plane fare, too. You’ll be doing yourself a HUGE favor by going!

Last weekend’s events were really cool! The weather was absolutely perfect in Alma, CO for the
Elevation Music Festival so camping under the stars was a big thrill! The Auditorium Music
Business Conference & Expo at Swallow Hill Music was extremely well-attended and had some
really awesome speakers who imparted their, sometimes, hard-earned wisdom to the crowd.
Let’s do both again next year!
