Photo: Angie & Dane (from Angie’s Facebook page) | Angie on Facebook, 2/14/22: What a difference a month makes! Swipe to see my hair in all its glory! I have one WEEEEEK left of treatments. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am. It’s been a wild ride and I am just so damn grateful to be near the end. I have to say, especially for anyone else going through this, it was the most difficult thing I have ever experienced.
Yes, I tried to stay positive, but a lot of the time I was curled up in a ball just trying to be ok. There is no right or wrong way to face this. If you are living, you are fighting and that’s all that matters.
I have to thank my family, my community and my incredible RMCC staff for everything they have done to take care of me. I also got by playing word games to keep my brain exercised and watching all of the true crime available! Also lots and lots of phone dates where I laughed and cried with my closest. You know who you are.
I am hoping to play my guitar again, teach again, find my place in the creative world again, but for now. I celebrate every victory. Every hair, especially the grey ones, and most of all just feeling like a human again. Watch out world, here I come… very slowly… but still!
