I’m a single father and working drummer raising a special needs child. My son Sammy was born with a rare brain disorder that causes his Autism, developmental delays, no speech, and epilepsy. I’m trying to raise money to help pay for genetics testing, chromizone testing, and therapy that his insurance doesn’t cover. We [my friends’ bands and mine] are putting on a benefit show May 15th at the Buffalo Rose at 1:00 p.m. We will be taking donations at the door, and will have a silent auction, raffles, and live music featuring the some of the best local talent! ROCKY MOUNTAIN BASS SLAM THIS SUNDAY – MAY 15th
The 9th Annual Rocky Mountain Bass Slam will be held on Sunday, May 15th, again at the Historic Oriental Theatre in North Denver from 1:30 to 6:00 pm. This year’s event will be featuring two national bass performers in the Legendary Chuck Rainey and SuperFunk Powerhouse Doug Johns. This annual event celebrates the bass guitar and showcases the wide range of musical options that bass players can provide. This event not only provides rare and surprising musical performances, but also raises money to donate bass guitars to under-privileged and life-challenged youth in Colorado. This year Rocky Mountain Bass Slam will be donating to Blue Star Connection – a local charity organization that puts musical instruments in the hands of children patients with life-threatening illness. Bass Slam’s goal is to put a bass guitar in the hands of youth who normally may not have access to the beautiful instrument of the bass. They pay healing forward through the gift of music and healing
