Please mark your calendar for this FREE event for Boulder Arts Week! Monday, April 6th , 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Junkyard Social Club in beautiful Boulder, Colorado!

It’s been almost two years since I presented Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? I feel motivated due to the wind storms we’ve been having here in Colorado and the extreme wildfire danger.

Years ago doctors came up with a term “Eco Anxiety”. I’m definitely feeling it and am guessing you are too. But by taking action and being part of the solution we can feel empowered like we are doing something important about it!

Many of you may have experienced this program but come and brush up on your Eco leader skills or just come out and support the event!

Join us for Boulder Arts Week and celebrate the 56th Anniversary of Earth Day in this wonderful space that is woman owned and LGBTQ+ friendly at Junkyard Social Club in beautiful Boulder, Colorado!

As a musician and activist, I will be sharing my multimedia presentation with art, photography, science and live music I created in 2012, Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? Ask yourself “What can I do?” You can be part of the solution! Have fun learning all kinds of simple acts we can all take to create more sustainable communities and this beautiful planet we share!

Our precious planet is like a spaceship out in space. We only have so much water, air, resources that will NOT be re-supplied! The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that over 42% of our greenhouse emissions come from the way products are extracted, produced, transported, and gotten rid of (even recycling takes energy). They also say that striving for zero waste is one of the easiest and quickest ways to fight climate change!

“Spaceship earth is not really a metaphor: we’ve got one planet, and it’s experiencing unprecedented mechanical difficulties. This presentation helps remind us how we can do our part to get it back on course.” – Bill McKibben best selling author and founder of 350.0rg

“Laurie’s “What Can I Do?” Spaceship Earth is powerful!” – Jared Polis – Governor Colorado

“This woman taught me more in an hour performance about what I can do to help save our planet than I’ve learned in the past 10 years!” – Stacy

I so look forward to seeing you there!

Green Tip of the month
Switch to using recycled toilet paper or bamboo!
Approximately 27,000 trees are cut down every day to meet the worlds toilet paper demand. That adds up to 9.8 million trees for a year. Trees are the “Lungs of our Earth” absorbing CO2 and we need to stop cutting them down. Please consider purchasing recycled TP or Bamboo TP. It costs a bit more but the cost to our beautiful planet is even more.

Every time you buy something, every time you throw something away, think about where is it coming from and where is it going?

I’ve been inspired to do this again because our wild fire risk is so extremely high that our power was turned off for several days here in Boulder and Golden Colorado. We need to do everything we can to help our beautiful planet and fight climate change!
