(Lynn has been a top scorer in COMBO’s Songwriting Contests!) Some fun news! On March 3rd, The Young and the Restless will be playing three of my songs, two from my new album Water Stones and Labyrinth Sun, and one from my first instrumental CD Winnie’s Guitar, the song “Letting Go.” Yay!!
My grandmother used to watch soap operas, and I remember thinking they were kind of silly. I never imagined I would have music on one someday. But when Paul asked if I would like to write for the show, I felt so honored. And honestly, it was really, really fun.
I wrote sad songs and a couple that felt anxious and unsettling. I loved tapping into that wide range of emotion and drama. It was a creative stretch, storytelling through music in a different form. For me, it felt playful and expansive.
