Ben Makinen: I woke this morning in Bali to an email reprinted below from Brynne thanking me for the nomination letter I sent in last July, and confirming Bob’s induction as seen on the poster attached.

I have also re-printed the first page of my nomination letter (it’s an eight page letter with history, quotes and a glowing overview of Bob’s tremendous influence on the musical community as a drummer and small business owner.)

Bob – again man, you mean so much to all of us. You created a safe space where drummers of every conceivable background, shape and style, met in friendship and bonded over the drum. We laughed we loved we learned, and sometimes were politely asked to stop bashing! You are one of a kind. Appreciated and loved. And now honored.

I am reaching out to personally thank you for your nominations in support of Bob Rupp and all he has done for Colorado’s music scene. We have listened to the feedback from you, our beloved music community, and we are thrilled to announce that Bob will be awarded at Colorado Music Hall of Fame’s Inaugural Community Impact Awards event alongside other incredible local music cornerstones and businesses.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 8 (Bob’s birthday!) at The Hall’s exhibit in the Colorado Convention Center. The evening will consist of the awards ceremony, an exciting musical and dance performance from Colorado Institute of Flamenco, and the opportunity to take home some exciting prizes from our silent auction.

Colorado Music Hall of Fame is proud to announce its Inaugural Community Impact Awards event on Wednesday, April 8 at 7pm at The Hall’s exhibit in the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver.
The Community Impact Award, a new recognition category, honors local musicians, bands, music educators, venues, businesses and organizations that have significantly influenced and created meaningful impact within Colorado’s music community.
