Thoughts and Prayers|

By Shannon Ogden, Denver7.com | A celebration of life for the late, local jazz great, Purnell Steen, has been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Denver’s historic Zion Baptist Church. The public is invited to attend. Steen died last month after a fall.

Steen recently performed a tribute concert for his late cousin Charles Burrell, the groundbreaking Denver bassist who was the first Black person hired by a symphony orchestra.
