Thinking of Doug & Barb Armitage who own(ed) Brightwood Music Store in Nederland. Not only have they lost their jobs but their business, which included many one-of-a-kind hand-made instruments to sell. They are still short of their GoFundMe goal by a couple of thousand dollars! This is money that can help pay their luthiers for the destroyed instruments and others for the merchandise lost. And yes, they had insurance but you know how insurance companies are – god only knows when that money will come through. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-brightwood-musics-recovery?

So sad. In the story about Cameron Crowe’s new book, he mentions that he stayed “clean” and turned his tape recorder on. During his talk to us last week, G. Brown said it never occurred to him – a broke young reporter – to save his tapes. He just recorded new interviews over them, erasing a vocal history that can never be replaced. If you had attended, you would have gone “ohhhhhh” with us.
