We want to wish our inveterate board member and vice-president Dr. Annette Cannon a “get well soon” as she recovers from an accident she suffered while at a conference in Takoma, WA. She will be under care and in rehab for several weeks in a Takoma hospital & rehab center. Sending lots of love and hugs, Annette!
.
And while we’re on “the board,” we are saying “Good-bye” to Board Member Nick Summers as he’s off to Nashville! Nick graduated from college with various music-related degrees including sound engineer and he’s on to higher callings. Nick has been working as the soundguy at Odde’s in Westminster and playing drums for a couple of bands in the northern area. He was a GREAT addition to the board! And while we will miss him, we truly wish him the best in his career future.

Therefore, we’re looking for a couple of new board members. If you have around 4 hours per month that you can help us out, please send an email with your qualifications, interests, and why you think you’d love teaching musicians about the business of music. We also need help a few times a year with information booths at events like music festivals, expositions, and school career days. And, too, we are in need of a “Membership” person. This is someone who can help with data entry, sending out welcome letters, and such. This may involve 2-3 hours per month. Someone who is “stuck at home” would really enjoy this job immensely! Send that e-mail to info @ colorado music .org (take out the spaces), letting us know you’d like to help out! (A full computer would be necessary for the Membership job; a phone will not work for our needs).

Is there anything that Kelly Clarkson can’t sing???!!! She sings with her guests on the show Songs & Stories and she keeps right up with them – including Gloria Estefan, The Jonas Brothers, Lizzo. And the back stories on the songs are so creative and neat!

• Colorado Blues Society says IBC Competition now “One and Done”: Since there wasn’t an overwhelming number of bands who signed up for the Blues Challenge, CBS has scaled the competition down to a single day. There will be Solo/Duo and Band finals all on one day, Oct. 26th at Nissi’s starting at 2:00 p.m. We will all find out who is going to Memphis then!
