The evening opens with James Curnow’s brilliant Fanfare and Flourishes and journeys through the fiery march The Cossack, the baroque brilliance of Frescobaldi’s Toccata, to the soulful lyricism of Joseph Turrin’s Hymn for Diana and the jazz-inspired grooves of Birdland and Children of Sanchez, and Mary Mixter’s elegant Theme and Variations on Colorado Women. From classical masterworks to jazz favorites, this concert promises something for every listener to enjoy as this program sparkles with variety, passion, and artistry.
