We’ve been busy behind the scenes, laying the groundwork for some fantastic blues experiences coming your way. Get ready for exciting news as we prepare for this year’s blues challenge, as well as our upcoming show with Josh Hoyer and the Soul Collosal, the Winner of the 2025 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. (We are giving away 2 pairs of tickets to this event!) We also have an online raffle going for a brand new Gibson ES-335 guitar. On Sunday, July 27, we held our first ever Sunday Afternoon Blues Review at the Rusty Bucket, and it was awesome! All this and more will be covered in detail later in the newsletter.

The 2025 MHBS Blues Challenge: We have scheduled our Blues Challenge for Friday, October 17, 2025, 7pm at the Rusty Bucket. During this one event we will determine the winners in all three categories, Band, Solo/Duo and Youth. The winners get the opportunity to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN in January of 2026.
We will only be accepting the first four competitors in each category. Registration is open now!

Our Blues Youth on Stage Performer: Jacob Mueller is a 17-year-old singer, guitar player and songwriter. He competed in our 2024 Blues Challenge as part of his band Blue Line Run. They were selected to represent MHBS I Memphis, TN in the International Blues Challenge. Jacob put on a great show! He was backed up by Will Bemiss on bass and Allen Dunkle on drums.
