Ashesh Dangol lives in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the Director and Producer at Nekhvam Studio, Artist, Freelance Photographer and a Guitarist /Vocalist/ Songwriter/Composer. He studied Literature at Tribhuvan University and can speak 4 languages. Played guitar at the age of 15 and by age 19, started to play in pubs and bars in Kathmandu. He released his first album “Free Spirit” with his band, Nekhvam, in 2004 and released his second album “Free Spirit II” in 2008, as Ashesh and Nekhvam. Ashesh completed his first international tour in Spain in 2007, and has had other successful tours in Norway, Germany, Scotland and England. Ashesh is given the title of the “Himalayan Hendrix” by the German and Norwagain press. Ashesh and Nekhvam is considered as the ‘first successful International band” from Nepal.

Up right now is the video of Navarat Varin and Eddy Panklang from Thailand who spoke and also played instruments native to Thailand at the meeting. You will really enjoy watching and hearing what they have to say! And, for the next several weeks, we will post short bios of each of the speakers for your reference. It was so great to be able to meet like-minded people and wonderful musicians – a language that ALL people speak.
We Wanted to Know More About the Thailanese Instruments…
Eddy Panklang writes that the instruments that he and Navarat Varin were playing that night included Saw Duang, Pin Pia, Khlui, and Seung. Mae Ping and Kang-Klao Kin Kluay were the names of the two songs they played to the delight of the crowd!
