By Gabe Whisnant, Newsweek | President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday aimed at curbing ticket scalping and introducing reforms to the live entertainment ticketing industry. The White House framed the move as a push for “commonsense” pricing, the order seeks to combat inflated resale prices and increase transparency throughout the ticket-buying process.

Entertainer Kid Rock, wearing a red suit with sequins, stars and stripes and large, glittering eagle wings on the chest, attended the signing.

Why It Matters
The move aligns with some consumer protection efforts previously undertaken by the Biden administration, which also targeted hidden “junk fees” and took legal action against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, for allegedly monopolizing the live events industry.
