We will still be celebrating Black History Month ’cause where would MUSIC be without our esteemed musical Brothers and Sisters of color! Singers, Songwriters, Instrumentalists, promoters, sound engineers – I was going to list a few musicians that have influenced so many of us in the business of music but I ran out of room! Starting with our own COMBO members like Hazel Miller, Erica Brown, Otis Taylor, and Rudy Grant, who grace so many stages year round, we can add in Big Mama Thornton, Billie Holiday, Jimi Hendrix, Michael, Janet and The Jacksons, Prince, Whitney, Beyonce, The Temptations, Motown Records & Berry Gordy, and so many, many, many more! BTW, I was reading up on Hattie McDaniel who won a Best Supporting Actress award for the Oscars in 1939 (Gone With the Wind). Did you know that she lived in Denver and Fort Collins, and that she was a singer, too?! Celebrate! Some really dumb people just don’t know what they are missing.

Marc Larson on FB, 2/01/25: Devastating news. My dear friend, Kevin Sean Ryan died this morning. He was a founding member of the Nacho Men. He will be greatly missed by all. Rest in Peace, Bro. . No more details at this time were available. Very saddened to hear this.
