7a-7:45a – Brian Parton
Brian was a “Best of 2014” nominee for Singer/Songwriter of the Year in the Colorado Springs Independent and has built a nice following in Colorado that continues to grow. He also was a nominee in the same category in 2013. He has had really strong shows as the opener for The Whippoorwills (Nashville) at the Lion’s Lair September 11th and Emma Ruth Rundle (Los Angeles) June 25th at the Larimer Lounge.

Recently said about Brian: “Brian is a gifted singer/songwriter who, as noted in this column last year, wields a mean Gretsch guitar and is likely to cover anything from Charlie Rich to Echo & the Bunnymen.” ~ Bill Forman – Colorado Springs Independent.

“Your songs sound like they should be in movies.” ~ Phil Stone KMOD, Tulsa “Breakfast Club Zoo with Phil and Brent”

8a-8:45a – Amy Kress
Amy began playing the piano when she was only 3 years old! Savoring every influence in her life from the quirkiness of Wes Anderson’s film “Grand Budapest Hotel” and many great musicians like Bjork, SOHN, and Death Cab For Cutie, Amy has been writing songs since she was 8 years old. Once losing 12 years of music in an accidental hard drive crash, she’s no stranger to shifting gears quickly, along with everything else she’s faced the last few years. As much as it pained her to let go of the years of music embedded on that hard drive, she focused on writing during the morning and, of course, late night hours as well. The people in her life, the interchange of experiences with them, and watching the games they play with each other is what she finds most inspirational. Never wanting to be in a spot where she’s not working on new music, the emotional upheaval and a stark change in her life has left her at a point where she’s motivated by creating new material. Born in Canada, Amy was an Aramco Brat living in Saudi Arabia with her family from the time she was five till the age of 12. She moved to the United States in 2001 during the unforgettable week of 9/11; settling in Colorado, she loved the state so much that she hasn’t left. Not surprising since wonderful blue skies, mountain peaks, and good vibes are pleasantly abundant.

9a-9:45a – Rich Owen
Rich Owen is a member of the Colorado Country Music Association Hall of Fame. He is also a former military officer. He lives just outside Colorado Springs, CO, with his wife and four children. He has been singing all of his life: at home, in choirs, and in front of any audience that would listen. A few short years ago, he picked up a guitar for the first time and taught himself to play. A few months later, he wrote his first song, “I Ain’t Ready for Forever (to End)”, for his wife. [This song won COMBO’s 2013 Songwriting Contest – Country Category.] His music truly comes straight from the heart, and a number of his songs pay tribute to our men and women in uniform. He has a unique way of drawing the listener into the stories he tells through his songs, and making them truly feel the emotions that play out in the music and lyrics. He has produced two albums of all original music, and is working on his third.

Rich’s solo shows are typically acoustic, with supporting soundtracks for some songs. He has performed before crowds as large as 4,000 people, and is a regular performer with the local USO. His music as played on internet and terrestrial stations in around the world. His first album, “Home, God, and Country”, won him Colorado Country Music Association’s 2009 Album of the Year; his second, “What’s Left of My Heart”, won the same award for 2011.
