On the first Friday of each month, Denver Open Media hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM’s website. Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media’s Studio A.
Join DOM for this month’s Open Music Sessions on Friday, April 3, featuring a live musical performance by High Five.
High Five is is a unique Denver-based Hip Hop collective that finds its roots and inspiration in the break beats and rhyme styling of Hip Hop’s golden era.
The show will also feature comedy from Kevin O’Brien.

‘SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN THE DIGITAL AGE’ SEMINAR
CU Denver’s Department of Music and Entertainment Industry Studies is pleased to present its Fifth Annual Digital Music Business Seminar at the King Center on the Auraria Campus, on Friday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 7.
“Surviving and Thriving in the Digital Age 2015” is free to all and will feature an impressive array of industry speakers. Stan Soocher is Associate Professor of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado’s Denver Campus. He is also an entertainment attorney and the long-time Editor-in-Chief of the publication Entertainment Law & Finance. His new book on Beatles legal issues will be published in September 2015.
In May 2015, Stan will present “Cutting-Edge Case Developments in Entertainment Law” at the Annual Spring Meeting of the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
In March 2015, Stan spoke on the panel “Litigation: The Cases We Need to Know” at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin.
In November 2014, Stan was very pleased to have received the State Bar of Texas Entertainment & Sports Law Section’s “Texas Star Award.” The award is given to an individual “who has made a major and noteworthy contribution to the practice of entertainment law.”

SongSMITH will kick things off starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the four singer/songwriters at about 7:30 p.m. Come early as we are expecting a packed house!
