L.M.M. is Laurie Michelle Music and is the creator of this fabulous showcase! You can find out more about her at: https://musiclauriemichelle.com/
Laurie Michelle is a multi-faceted artist who will break your heart with her powerfully agile & emotive voice, before healing it again with a sweetly entrancing, buttery smooth croon.
She began her musical exploration at age 6 with piano lessons & a love for singing along to her parents’ favorites like The Beatles & The Beach Boys. At 11, Laurie began studying classical violin as well as composing her own original music & poetry. By 16, she expanded her skills to include classical viola & acoustic guitar.
After high school, she studied classical strings & opera at The D.I.T. Academy of Music in Dublin, Ireland – later returning to BYU in Provo (UT) to sing in the Women’s Chorus. Her academic development continued at The University of Utah, exploring several music majors such as classical composition & jazz studies, all while playing with the Utah Philharmonia Orchestra.
Laurie Michelle’s path took a life changing turn when she immersed herself in Salt Lake City’s vibrant Jazz & Blues scene. She performed with various bands in SLC as a vocalist and violinist for several years before evolving into her solo acoustic show.
After moving to Colorado in Spring 2022, Laurie Michelle made her presence known in the live music scene immediately – not just as an active solo performer but also as an engaged community builder. She currently organizes her own event “The Monthly Songwriter Showcase” featuring local Colorado songwriters & artist vendors (now in its third 6mo residency at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder), as well as organizing & hosting “The Third Friday Open Mic at Sunroom Brewing” in Englewood. She also has a private teaching studio where she offers lessons on violin, viola, piano, acoustic guitar, ukulele, piano, singing & songwriting.
Laurie released a 4-song acoustic indie EP “For The Heartbroken” in 2022 and a blues-rock single “Adelaide” in 2023.
