Photo: Door to Alissa Moreno’s late home | Many of you know our dear friend of the expo, Alissa Moreno. Just a couple days ago her home in Nashville burned down – every living creature made it out of the house in one piece, but she and her husband and 3 boys, and her parents who were living with them, have certainly had their lives flipped upside down. Please check out this GoFundMe for Alissa & Jason here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-jason-alissa
Also, our friends Brian & Kate, who have been providing the sound & stage for this event for many years – unfortunately on their drive home from our Film & TV event a couple weeks ago, the axle went out on the trailer carrying all their equipment, halfway between Flagstaff and Gallup, and they had to replace all four tires and find a welder to fix the axle… a difficult and costly incident to say the least. If anyone would like to chip in to help Brian & Kate out with their costs and/or write them a note to show them some love – Brian’s paypal and email is brian@musicmastersllc.com & Venmo is @musicmasters.
It’s moments like these when we’re so fortunate to have a community in Durango, where we can be there for each other to help put things back together when everything falls apart. These moments remind us what it means to be human.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the fall expo – we’ll have details to share shortly.
We look forward to seeing you all soon,
The DSE Team

From Alissa: Saturday morning at 5:58 our hot tub blew while we were sleeping. It’s a miracle we all got out. The chief said it was the thickest smoke he’d seen in a house fire and our bedroom was 800-900 degrees when they retrieved my cell phone. At 9:10 am the fire was completely out and the firefighters let me in to get anything we wanted to try and save. I took this video to remind myself how lucky I am and to lovingly say goodbye to our house.
