This year marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary Europe ’72 tour and to celebrate, Rhino has enough new releases to keep a Deadhead occupied for quite a while:
• The original “Europe ’72”, a landmark album for the Dead, has been remastered from the original analog masters tapes, utilizing Plangent Processes. It’s available on LP, CD, and high-resolution digital download.
• The Wembley show from 4/8/72 was a standout of the Europe ’72 tour. The show was released as a 5-LP box for Record Store Day this month. Were you one of the lucky ones who snagged a copy?
• The 4 shows at London’s Lyceum at the end of the Dead’s Europe 72 tour yielded several tracks for the original 3-LP Europe ’72 album, including “Truckin’,” “Morning Dew,” “Mr. Charlie,” “One More Saturday Night,” and “Ramble On Rose.” Now, these complete shows are available for the first time on vinyl in a massive 24-LP set which includes a 52-page booklet.
We’ve heard the test pressings; you won’t be disappointed.
• The 5/26/72 Lyceum show is available as a 4-CD set.
Mastered by David Glasser. All sets mixed by Jeffrey Norman, produced by David Lemieux. Plangent Processes by Jamie Howarth.
