Morning! We’ll be dropping off instruments to the school district on Monday and hosting a pop-up “shop” for those who lost their instruments in the Marshall Fire at Macky Auditorium on February 5th! If you know someone who lost their instruments, have them email futureartsfoundation@gmail.com for an invitation.

If you’d still like to donate an instrument, you may email us.

If you’d like to donate to this project (as we are purchasing many of these instruments), please visit https://www.fafcolorado.org/donate. If you donate $100 or more, we’ll mail you some tickets to the Bluebird Music Festival!

We have now collected over 200 instruments and given away over $30,000 in festival tickets as a thank you for these donations.

We still have a long way to go to purchase all of the Christmas and Hanukkah that these kiddos (and adults) lost just a week after Santa dropped them off.

Thanks!

Boulder pop-up music shop for fire victims will be at Macky Auditorium

By Kelsey Hammon | khammon@prairiemountainmedia.com | Longmont Times-Call

After accumulating nearly 400 donated instruments, the Future Arts Foundation will host a pop-up instrument shop for people recovering from the Marshall Fire, at the Macky Auditorium on the CU Boulder campus.

The nonprofit’s goal is to help replace instruments that were lost in the blaze, which destroyed more than 1,000 homes. The pop-up shop will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the auditorium, 1595 Pleasant St. in Boulder, according to a Future Arts Foundation news release.

The nonprofit, which supports youth arts programs and hosts musical events, said all who have lost an instrument or instruments in the fire will be invited to attend this event and pick up new instruments. Those who would like to attend should email futureartsfoundation@gmail.com to inquire about an invitation, the release said. The Future Arts Foundation will donate some of the instruments collected to the Boulder Valley School District on Monday.

The nonprofit is seeking financial donations to help acquire more instruments and pay for repairs. People can make a tax-deductible donation at fafcolorado.org/donate. Donations of more than $100 will receive two tickets to the Bluebird Music Festival, which is set for April 23 to 24 and will feature Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, Margo Price, Waxahatchee, The Lone Bellow and Langhorne Slim, to name a few.
