It has been a joy to connect with so many of you at the live-streaming concerts I’ve been doing on YouTube, and on facebook for #Music Mondays over the last month.
This year has been so strange. For me. For everybody we know. And I have a new appreciation for some of these tools and technologies that allow us to stay connected, and give me a way to “beam” my music and my voice to wherever there’s somebody who wants to listen.
If tuning in for a song or two from one of your favorite musicians over the last few months has brightened your day, and put a bounce back in your step, you can be sure that your “tuning in” and listening has done the same thing for them. Your love, and comments, requests, and generous signs of appreciation put the wind back in our sails.
So, for the next chapter in this musical journey, I’ve launched a patron-style music community on Patreon.
For those who haven’t heard of Patreon, it’s a platform where fans can directly support the artists and creators whose work they want to champion. And in return, those artists can create more art/music/content for their fans and for the world, and offer their patrons exclusive, not-for-the-general public artworks, behind-the-scenes content, and other special benefits.
So, here are some of the things I’ve been working on for Jody Mulgrew’s Patreon:
● Monthly patrons-only Zoom “after-show-streaming cocktail party”
● Early Access to new releases + Bonus unreleased recordings
● A “Direct Line” for #MusicMonday requests and Dedications
● One-on-One Online Music Lessons, Custom Songs and more…
Already, just from mentioning this new community on Saturday’s streaming concert and this week’s Music Monday, we’ve started growing this community of “patrons” excited to pledge their monthly support. So, I’ve “unlocked” one of the coolest posts on my Patreon, a new song “The Bayou, My Baby, and Me”, for you to see what kind of things I’m up to over there.
