Jake Jabs of American Lifestyle Furniture and Barb Dye, President of COMBO.

Not kidding either! We’re coming to your home as soon as you invite us in! For years we’ve video’d our meetings so that our members who hail from all over Colorado as well as to other states and all over the world could watch and learn. So this week – and in the coming weeks until the coronavirus danger is over – we will encourage you to watch some of our previous programs and enjoy hearing the speakers who have “been there, done that.”

The videos include guitarist Jake Jabs (yes, the American Furniture guy) talking about how the music scene has changed so much from the time he opened his first record store (remember them?) in Montana to now when there are so few real record stores like Twist & Shout Records (and lots more) at 2508 East Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80206, 303-722-1943, and Albums on the Hill at 1128 13th Street, Boulder, CO 80302, 303-447-0159.

And, sadly, that brings up “Record Store Day” being postponed to a later date because of store closures.

COMBO’s General Meeting, April, 2015, on The International Music Scene – Thailand:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2La6UATHNc

The idea of this program was to show our musicians that musicians are alike all over the world. And we especially had a really fun time playing the instruments the guys from Thailand, like Navarat Varin, brought! We hope that they and Kareem, as well as our other guest speakers – Ashesh Dangol, Alejandro Parra, Merethe Solvedt, Ricardo Vallejos, Nate Hamon, Duncan Webb, are well and have managed to stay away from the virus. (Although, for your information, Nepal suffered an extensive 7.0 earthquake a few days after our program that effected Ashesh’s family. COMBO and some of its members donated money to Ashesh to help him out).
