Tim McGraw ‘Sold Everything’ to Start His Career
| The Insider
Tim McGraw followed his heart and dreams to Nashville at a young age and is now opening up about the sacrifices he made to kick start his career. “I ended up telling my mom that, ‘I think I’m just going to drop out of school and move to Nashville,’ and she told me that she was surprised I hadn’t done it sooner,'” the crooner explains in a video sneak peek from an upcoming episode of “Oprah’s Master Class” on Sunday. “I sold everything I had,” he continues. “I sold water skis, shot guns, and just about everything that I had… Got on a Greyhound bus to Nashville and got there at 4 four in the morning, never looked back.” The 47-year-old singer claims didn’t care about the fame and fortune that would follow because he was focused solely on playing music.
