2014 FIDDLE TUNES CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Entries for the 12th Annual Nebraska American String Teachers Fiddle Tune Composition Contest were received from California (Fresno, San Jose), Colorado (Lafayette), Illinois (Oak Park), Maryland (Accokeek, Bethesda), Massachusetts (Boston), Michigan (Canton), Nebraska (Bellevue, Gretna, Lincoln, Omaha), New York (Buffalo, New York City), North Carolina (Raleigh), Oklahoma (Tulsa), Virginia (Arlington), Wyoming (Cheyenne), Canada (Nova Scotia)
The results are as follows:
First Place: “It Was You”, by Lin Gowin, Lincoln, NE
Second Place: “Art Harrison’s Reel”, by Mike Casey, Oak Park, IL
Third Place: “Cache La Poudre”, by Steven Scott, Cheyenne, WY
Best Viola Tune: “Tater’s Haircut”, by Steven Scott, Cheyenne, WY
The winning tunes will be printed in up-coming issues of Stringing Along, our Nebraska ASTA newsletter.
