My name is Riley Jones and I am 63 and retired. I’m originally from Clovis, New Mexico and I came to Denver, CO in 1960. I served in the United States Army for 8 ½ years. I’m retired from the U.S. Postal service after 25 years, and 5.5 years with the Veterans Administration. I’m married with 2 grown and gone sons, a stepdaughter, and 9 grandchildren. Raising my family curved my destination, but now I’m back and ready to give music my best.
I first became interested in music when I was twelve years old. The piano was my first instrument choice. I love the piano! I studied some while attending the Auraria Community College campus. I pretty much taught myself the piano.
All my life I’ve loved entertaining, and now that I have time to spare, my goal is to find an artist that needs songs and to let the world hear my music. I want to share my music with the world, otherwise what’s the use of having a soul full of music, and no ears to hear it? I enjoy meeting new people, and with every opportunity available I will record my songs and have them ready just in case I meet the right person seeking a song to sing. I write gospel songs and some seculars songs. I really write what I feel deep inside me. Someone once told me that there’s only so many notes one can use, but I believe that it’s all about how you express yourself.
I’m looking forward toward being successful.
I’ve been writing songs off and on for most of my life, with years of interruptions. I all so hope to meet someone that can assist me with getting my songs heard in the mass of our society worldwide. I don’t have a whole lot of time left, so therefore my time is ticking. I really do believe in the songs that I write, You know, that “deep down inside feeling, gut feeling.” All I want is for someone to hear my songs the way I have written them, to really feel where I am coming from in my writing. I want to broaden my music for the world to hear. I want to touch the world before I leave this life and hopefully enjoy the benefits while I still have breath in this body of mine. I have time to spare, but would rather apply that time to advancing my music and my dream. I submitted a CD to “Barb” at COMBO, a wonderful lady with a precious heart and a very likable person, the kind of person you do not meet every day. She is so committed to what she does, and reflects trueness and dedication to her work. One song on the CD is titled “Change”. This song could really fit into today’s world. Song #2 is titled “Spread a Little Love”. This is another song ready for the world and then 3 gospel songs, in another direction for the Christian world. And – I have a catalog of songs that are just sitting accumulating dust. I’d love to get these songs to Carrie Underwood!
