Colorado-based country music singer/songwriter Taylor Rae, the young artist with the voice full of power and sensitivity beyond her years, will release her first album on June 16 with a sure-to-be blockbuster single, 13 Stripes and 50 Stars, hitting 1800 country radio stations nationwide today, June 8.
Taylor’s self-titled project is available on all popular digital outlets and on Taylor’s website. The first single promises to become a new generation’s standard for honoring our nation with passion and enthusiasm. It was written by well known songwriters Christy Sutherland and John Colgin and was the first song chosen by Taylor Rae to be on her new EP.
“I immediately knew this song was ME,” says Taylor. “It says everything I feel about growing up in this great country. Even though we have lots of issues these days, this song captures what still makes this country great.”
Taylor Rae, the album, includes songs written by Taylor as well as others by top Nashville writers. Each song tells a story or makes a statement that is personal for Taylor. Even at only 16 years of age, Taylor sees music as her way to encourage people her age and older to stick it out during challenging times. Her life’s theme is “Changing Hearts One Song at a Time.”
Taylor recorded the EP in Nashville with producer Billy Smiley at Dark Horse Studio and Jay DeMarcus’ (Rascal Flatts),The Grip. Smiley brought some of the best players in town to the project including drummers Steve Brewster (Dierks Bently, Faith Hill) and Aussie Jared Kneale (Hunter Hayes), Scotty Sanders (Oak Ridge Boys, Sam Hunt) on steel guitar, Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus on bass and keys, Brennan Smiley (Technicolors), and Blair Masters (Garth Brooks, Stephen Curtis Chapman) on keys to name a few.
“This wasn’t just a dream team that Billy assembled, it was the impossible dream team,” says Taylor.
