Sergio Augusto is a marvelous Brazilian singer, composer and guitarist now living in Denver, Colorado. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sergio played a major part in the burgeoning Bossa Nova movement in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and eventually the United States, along with world renowned Brazilian musicians such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Baden Powell, Carlos Lyra, Roberto Menescal, Joao Donato, Sergio Mendes, Walter Santes, Oscar Castro-Neves, and many more. He wrote his first song “Barquinho Diferente” at the age of 15. The song was an homage to Roberto Menescal, who wrote the famous song “Little Boat”. Today “Barquinho Diferente” is considered one of the bossa nova classics. The first to record it was the Zimbo Trio, followed by Claudette Soares, Milton Banana Trio, Neide Fraga, Hebe Carmago, Jondo Trio, Manfredo Fest and many others. He was the owner of a major recording studio in Sao Paulo along with legendary Brazilian singer Elis Regina, and is the recipient of 16 Cleo Awards in advertising. His Bossa Nova beat is unmistakable, and he lives and breathes this genre and wants to help keep it alive and well. He sings in several languages to appeal to all nationalities, but always with his balmy and irresistible voice and guitar, which makes him unique amongst the Bossa Nova artists. He has performed locally at Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge, the Burnsley, Warwick and Lowe’s hotels, Mount Vernon Country Club, the Cherry Creek and Telluride Arts Festivals, and travels yearly to Brazil to perform in several of the nightclubs in Sao Paulo and Rio. He is currently working on “dressing” international classics with the Bossa Nova touch along with local award winning guitarist/composer, Eric Roberts.
“Sergio is living proof of a genre that still has that magic touch and he serves as a pot of gold with his interpretations and reaches new highs with his Bossa Nova songs.” – Egidio Leitaio/ http://www.MusicaBrasileira.org

Eric Roberts is a gifted guitarist, bassist and composer, among his various talents. Receiving a guitar at Christmas time when he was 13 years of age started him on the path of making the guitar his passion. Immediately beginning with the Mel Bay Guitar Method and working through all seven books, his technique and musicality began to bloom. It was at a Music Camp that his guitar teacher introduced him to Brazilian music, and from then on he was hooked. He ended up attending Ithaca College School of Music and began to study classical guitar, which added a new dimension to his playing, using the fingers instead of a pick. He eventually took up the bass as well, and while getting his Masters degree at the University of Miami, ended up playing bass behind such stars as Chuck Berry, The Fifth Dimension, The Smothers Brothers, The Drifters, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Roger Williams, Maureen McGovern, and more. But eventually the guitar took center stage again, and he started composing his own music, which ranges from “jazzy, non-commercial new age” as he calls it, to Brazilian and smooth jazz. His first CD, “In A Silent Place”, was recorded in 2005 and features grammy award winning cellist, David Darling, formerly of the groundbreaking world music group “The Paul Winter Consort”. The CD’s music ranges from tranquil meditative melodies to spontaneous musical improvisations and has been the recipient of many awards. This CD was followed up by “My Brazilian Heart”, recorded in 2009, and features 6 of his brazilian and smooth jazz compositions, performed with some college friends, Bill Harris and Barbara Merjan, who have gone on to have stellar careers in the music business, backing up many famous name entertainers.
