Three out of the five nominations for Best Bluegrass Album were mastered by Airshow engineers: Bryan Sutton‘s “Into My Own” (Sugar Hill Records) and Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen’s “Cold Spell” (Compass Records) were both mastered by Randy LeRoy, and The Earls of Leicester‘s self-titled album on Rounder was mastered by David Glasser.
Eliza Gilkyson‘s “The Nocturne Diaries” (Red House Records) was nominated for Best Folk Album. It was mixed by James Tuttle and mastered by Dominick Maita.
Peter Kater & R. Carlos Nakai’s “Ritual” (Mysterium Music) was nominated for Best New Age Album and was mastered by David Glasser.
Additionally, two box sets were recognized: The Grateful Dead’s “Spring 1990 (The Other One)“ (Rhino Records) was nominated for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package (mastering by David Glasser) and “The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records Volume 1, 1917-27” (Third Man / Revenant Records) was nominated for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package and for Best Liner Notes (mastering by David Glasser and Anna Frick).
It was a real pleasure to work on these recordings, and best of luck to all the nominees. Read more about these releases here.
