The 2024 Colorado Roots Music Summit for the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance (SWRFA) will be held at Swallow Hill, 71 East Yale Avenue, Denver, on May 19th, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. It will feature educations panel discussions and seminars on music topics, networking opportunities, and some performance opportunities for artists.

Cost is $25 per person which covers meals and materials!

Building a Social Media Strategy – Host – Antonio Lopez – Antonio Lopez is a Colorado singer/songwriter. His newest album Here We Are is an alluring collection of songs written by an artist wrestling with his ego as he chases success and slow dances with failure. Through the lens of his indigenous Chicano roots, Lopez speaks many truths with gentle precision.

Panelists:
Daniel Lorenzo – Digital Marketing Manager at Swallow Hill Music Association, and performs with the band Chariots & Charioteers.

Racyne Parker – An Oregon-raised and Denver-based songwriter, Racyne Parker continues to build community through her music, performances, and social media platforms. As a Top 10 Finalist in the 2024 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Contest with an upcoming slot at the Women Who Rock the Rockies Festival and new music out (and more on the way), this year is shaping up to be a heck of journey – happy to have you along for the ride!

Sync Licensing 101 – Host: Shauna Sweeney – Shauna Sweeney is a singer/songwriter from Denver, Colorado and is the senior manager of concert production at Swallow Hill Music Association.

Panelists:
Ricki Askin- Ricki Askin is a freelance music supervisor with credits spanning across film, TV, and advertising. Recent credits include the Lionsgate theatrical release “Scrambled,” and music licensing support for the last 18 months of Ted Talks.

Teresa Suydam – Teresa’s musical repertoire extends across various licensing agencies, with notable credits including CBS and The Young and the Restless.

Mental Health for Musicians:
Presenter: Dr. Alex Littleton – Dr. Alex Littleton is a licensed clinical psychologist and co-owner of Vivid Psychology Group in Denver, Colorado. He oversees the clinical training program at Vivid Psychology Group for our clinicians and extern students. His specialty areas include: anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, social anxiety, phobias, PTSD, mood disorders, amongst others.

Video Basics for Musicians – Host: Marilyn Walker – Singer/songwriter from Boulder, Colorado

Presenters:
Steef Seely of Denver Film & Digital – Steef Sealy launched Denver Film & Digital in 1999, figuring it was the perfect use of his education and experience. He earned his BFA in Theater at the University of Denver, and his MFA in Cinematography at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

Chris Seely of Denver Film & Digital – Chris Seely began her film career in producing news programming in Cheyenne, WY and for CBS in Los Angeles. She now writes, produces, conducts interviews and edits film at Denver Film & Digital.
