I was commenting to someone at the Durango Songwriters Expo that we had several really good rock-a-billy style songs entered in the COMBO Songwriting Contest. I said that the writers were born too late and had little chance of getting their songs picked up. Then I’ll be darned!!! CBS Friday Morning News featured a new-to-the-scene singer by the name of Stephen Sanchez who is 20 years old! This kid is a throw-back to Elvis, Gene Pitney, Richie Valens, and so many of the ‘50s and ‘60s entertainers. He’s really good, good looking, and he can sing and play guitar!
