On the first Friday of each month, Denver Open Media hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM’s website. Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media’s Studio A.

Join DOM for this month’s Open Music Sessions on Friday, July 3, featuring a live musical performance by Rossonian.

Rossonian is a band of white boys named after the legendary Five Points jazz club. The band delivers the same blissful reminder of pleasure and darkness to come that Jack Kerouac wrote about in On the Road. Rossonian’s music is the thrill of anticipation as you prepare yourself for the ecstasy of heading out into the night.

JAZZ VOCALIST ROXANNE BROWN, WITH ELLYN RUCKER, AT LaCOUR ART BAR, JULY 5th

Jazz vocalist, Roxanne Brown, will be appearing at La Cour Art Bar, 1643 South Broadway, Denver, on July 5, 2015, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  “What a pleasure it is going to be to appear with Ellyn [Rucker]”, Roxanne said. They have known each other for many years, and have enjoyed beautiful musical collaborations in the past.

Roxanne, who just returned from the North Bay in California, enjoys the intimacy of LaCour and the appreciation of the patrons. It has been her pleasure to be accompanied by the crème de la crème of the music world, to make beautiful music, and enjoy the ambiance of this tastefully appointed Art Bar. Please join us for this musical treat.

While you’re there, ask Roxanne about her “Tribute to Billie Holiday” appearance set for August 15th. She has been playing to standing rooms only, and it’s been received very well each time she has performed. It covers a very large portion of Billie’s songbook, and Roxanne’s blessing of meeting Ms. Holiday as a child, and portraying a particularly important time in her life.
